"Lose 25 Lbs." bike ride

Time-tested, only enjoyable way I know to lose weight and get in good aerobic condition. Seems like it has to be at least ten days to maybe 13 or 14 days, and 45 to 65 miles per day.

Los Olivos - Santa Inez valley, "Sideways" movie

A different perspective, not the scenery of vineyards and restaurants from the movie "Sideways", But, the bicycling, i.e. Lance Armstrong returning each year in February and March to train for the Tour d'France, the 'warmest early-spring' riding, vertical and scenic, small, good restaurants, quiet and minimal weekday traffic. Usually 3 1/2 hours from Fire Station One to Los Olivos, all of it on H-101. So when I get my new Trek, w/ Durace-triple (set up for Halaelakala, August 26, 07), at the end of February, Los Olivos will be my first multi day ride.

Silicon Valley, its Heart and Soul

This has got to be the biggest challenge I have yet set for myself - - "Woman needs Man, like a Fish needs a Bicycle", Silicon Valley needs Heart and Soul,.....like the 'fish & bicycle thing'
There is no question, Silicon Vly is a great place to live, - the Climate, - the Closeness to the Ocean/Sierra, - Abundance of good schools (5 Universities, also), - "The Real Estate appreciation 'proves' it", - amazing Diversity, "Cutting-edge new Business (Google, Yahoo, e-Bay, etc)
What is the "Heart and Soul" of Silicon Valley? Is it the Neigborhoods, an 'Old town', Santana Row, Live theater, Retro-old theaters. Is it a History, A Way of Life, A Character, some established Writers, Artists, Musicians, cutting-edge Chefs, Charasmatic Politicians. Is it making Wine, growing Flowers, Film Festivals, Art Shows, creative gourmat Resturants

Maybe not - it might just be "Text-messaging" and"Blue-tooth" conversations (everywhere specifically while driving, eating, exercising) working 60 and 70 hours a week at the "Cutting-edge, 'Start-ups'", the Busyness of the two-income Households, buying houses just for the 'Appreciation', an average turn-over of Three years for the 'Newly-arriving' and the 'Newly leaving', and that would help to understand the "No Identity", "minimal "Ownership in the Community, It all functions relly well, sort of like its Start-ups/Cutting-edge Technology, but, alas, just barely "Medocrity", - - Not much "Heart and Soul"
